Big Things are Happening at ByrdAdatto
We at ByrdAdatto would like to share two exciting pieces of news.
On Monday, June 12, Michael Byrd was named new Chair of the Board of Directors for LEAP Global Missions. LEAP is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing and enriching the lives of people around the world by providing free, specialized medical and surgical services to those in need. Michael replaces the out-going Chair, Dr. Craig Hobar, who founded LEAP and occupied that position for 25 years. Michael has been a member of LEAP’s Board for over a decade and has headed LEAP’s Governance Committee for the past two years. For more information on LEAP and the great work of this organization, please visit their website at: https://www.leapmissions.org/.
In other news, on Saturday, June 10, Dermatology Times published an article based on ByrdAdatto’s Chicago Managing Partner, Alex Thiersch’s presentation entitled “Top 5 Reasons Your Practice Could Likely be Investigated,” which he presented at the 2017 Vegas Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology meeting. The article sets forth the five reasons practices are investigated today, which include medical director contracts; the unauthorized practice of medicine; improper corporate structure or ownership; fee-splitting; and anti-kickback violations. The article quotes Alex’s extensive advice on how to avoid these pitfalls. It can be read in its entirety here.
We would like to congratulate Michael on his new position as Chair of LEAP’s Board and Alex on his feature in Dermatology Times!
