Working from home, or a remote location, also known as telecommuting, has been a work arrangement that many companies adopted years ago.  With the need for social distancing, many businesses are experiencing temporary closings of their locations.  Companies are now allowing their employees to work from home. This is an effective model to remain open for business and help slow the spread of COVID-19. However, countless businesses have not implemented a policy or guidelines on how to implement this strategy.  A good policy needs to protect the employer, but educate the employees on the proper do’s and don’ts.  Developing policies and procedures for telecommuting will set your business up for success as you continue to work hard during the COVID-19 crisis.
