Texas DSO Registration Renewals Due January 31, 2018

Robert J. Fisher | 12.28.17

robert[4]The first year of Texas’s Dental Support Organization (DSO) registration program will come to an end with the end of this month. We want to remind all DSOs that your registration will expire on December 31, 2017, regardless of when you began your registration in 2017, and you have until January 31, 2018, to complete a renewal application with the Texas Secretary of State (TXSOS) for the new calendar year.

As the program enters its second year, please remember a few key components of the law. First, TXSOS must be updated within the quarter if any changes to the information on your DSO registration/renewal application are made. Second, if your DSO enters into an agreement to provide services after January 31, 2018, it has 90 days after executing that agreement to become registered with the TXSOS. Finally, failure to register may lead to a fine of up to $1,000, with additional penalties possible for ongoing noncompliance

The forms for registrations, renewals, and updates are published here:  http://www.sos.state.tx.us/statdoc/statforms.shtml.

If you have questions regarding this registration requirement or other DSO related questions, please contact Robert Fisher at rfisher@byrdadatto.com or 469-399-5380.
